Lost Spoilers: Season 4, Episode 12 - There's No Place Like Home

This is the Lost Spoilers blog for Part I of the season finale of Lost Season 4 - episode 12 - There's No Place Like Home. This post is continued with more videos and pictures here: Lost Spoilers Finale 2. The first Lost Spoilers clue for the season finale is in the title - There's No Place Like Home. What does that sound like?

Lost Oceanic Air SpoilersWelcome Home Oceanic Style

Lost Spoilers - Season 4 Finale - Dorothy in OzThere's No Place Like Home
Judy Garland as Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz (1939)

Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz, of course - closing her eyes, clicking her heels, and saying, there's no place like home, and poof, the dream is over and she is safe and sound at home, out of mythical Oz. Escaped from Ben and the evil Others and the evil freighter people ...

Lost Spoilers in OzBadder Than Ben
Margaret Hamilton as the Wicked Witch of the West in the Wizard of Oz (1939)

What does that have to do with Lost? The big Lost spoilers for the season finale is we find out how the Oceanic Six lost survivors make it off the island. Their bad dream is over - or is it just beginning? The flash forwards show life post-island is pretty scary for the six. Naturally, the Oceanic Airlines spin doctors cannot pass up the opportunity to put on a coming out news conference, with the Oceanic logo emblazoned on the wall behind the Oceanic 6 survivors. Hurley's parents appear, as does Mr. Paik, Sun's father - also of Paik Heavy Industries.

The final episode of Lost for Season 4 is actually three separate episodes - one hour broadcast first, then the last two hours broadcast two weeks later.

As usual ABC has leaked out some Lost spoilers videos. The first of the Lost videos has a confrontation in the jungle. Sawyer with baby Aaron gets cornered by gun-toting Jack and Kate – the happy island couple, plus Miles the Lost ghost whisperer. Uh or is it Sawyer and Kate the happy island couple? Kate asks the logical Lost Spoilers blog question – Hey dude, “Where’s Claire”. The answer, well she’s sort of dead but not quite. She disappeared at night, of course to go to the Lost cabin to hang with Locke and Jacob. Then the most critical Sawyer-Jack confrontation of Lost Season 4 ensues. Sawyer reveals that the Keamy – Widmore commandos really do want to kill everyone like Locke predicted. Jack, true to character, comes up with a plan doomed to failure and wants to go off into the jungle and track them down, outgunned with his light weaponry. Sawyer, thinks it’s a bad plan.

Lost Spoilers: The Man From Tallahassee, Episode 13, Season 3

The upcoming episode of Lost is "The Man From Tallahassee" and this is the Contender's Lost Spoilers blog for this episode - Season 3, Episode 13 of Lost on ABC. If Par Avion was the set up, The Man From Tallahassee is the pay-off. Stop reading now ...... if you do not want to know what is coming up on Lost ........ Oh, also some Par Avion and Season 2 mixed in...

Think John Locke, think back story. Yes, we find out about how Locke wound up paralyzed and see him fit his wheelchair. Kate continues her journey to rescue Jack. She finally makes it to Othersville the suburban enclave of the Others in Par Avion, and she finds another other. Readers of this Lost Spoilers blog have known for weeks now, she is stunned at what she sees when she finally finds her love Jack. If anyone still is interested, no Kate-Sawyer - still in splittsville, not othersville.

Hey Contender, what about Par Avion? The episode is summarized in the Lost spoilers blog article here and the Par Avion spoilers follow-up here. We received confirmation at last that Claire is Jack's half-sister, related through dear old dad, Dr. Christian Shephard. This surprise was hinted at in Lost season 2, the Ana-Lucia flashback in "Two for the Road". Remember that one? It featured Ana-Lucia's adult interaction with Sawyer, Kate's love, besides her other other one Jack. In the Lost Spoilers Blog flashback, here is an old promo for "Two for the Road", now a pivotal episode of Lost history:

Nice perspective on the "romance" of Season 3.

Ok, back to Par Avion, Patchy (Mikhail) tells the Kate-led Jack rescue party that the security barrier is broken. All-knowing Locke decides to test that, with Patchy. Poor Patchy. R.I.P.

And finally, back to the Man From Tallahassee Lost spoilers. The Locke flashback will reveal the circumstances surrounding his paralysis. We see an hospital nurse orderly assist him into the wheelchair, only to be liberated by the crash of Oceanic Flight 815 on the Lost Island. The promos are already up on the web, and here they are. Our friend Doc Arzt was on top of this.

The Canadian promo is pretty interesting. Kate finally makes it to Jack, and is stunned to see him now another Other, and a collaborator in her interrogation. He told her not to come for him - and meant it. As for all knowing Locke, he's in search of another computer to play with... not really... he learned all about the submarine and is determined to get it. Ben, still recovering from Jack's surgery is cornered, gun to head.

The USA promo hypes the John Locke story aspects:

This one will be a roller coaster.

As usual ABC TV has its Lost Spoilers press release with intriguing hints for The Man From Tallahassee. Here are the official ABC spoilers:

"The Man from Tallahassee" - Ben tries to persuade a determined Locke to call off his destructive plan by offering him some of the secrets of the island, and Kate's reunion with Jack does not go off as planned when she discovers that he has made a deal with "The Others," on "Lost," ... on the ABC Television Network.

More Par Avion Lost Spoilers Videos

We posted the Lost Spoilers summary for Par Avion, Air Mail, a few days ago, and this is an update on it.

As usual, stop reading now if you don't want to know the future of the Lost TV series, or are just a spoil[er]sport ;) Ohhh alright spoil[er]sports always welcome at the Lost Spoilers blog too.

Now, without further to do, the first is a spoilers spot on the Kate-Locke-Sayid-Rousseau-Patchy 40 mile trek across the island. Patchy is playing the mind games with the Losties, as usual. Kate is on to him though, but becomes unsettled when Patchy (Mikhail) drops two not-so-big reveals. One is that Ben is not the "one" the big inspirational "great" founder of the Others. Everyone reading this Lost Spoilers blog of course knew that spoiler weeks ago, but of course Ben still is the on-site leader, with power to pardon. The other is that Kate is not on the list, nor Sayid, nor Locke.

This is the spoilers clue that Patchy is a liar, since actually Kate was on the list and that is why the Others went to great lengths to capture her. Of course Rousseau the all knowing says Patchy is a liar, just like Ben. Then we see at the end of the clip, Patchy's line to Locke. Patchy knew Locke pre-island... Patchy says that Locke "was a pa..." He does not complete the line, but here at the Lost Spoilers blog we can, Lock "was a paraplegic". Here is the TV spot, and Kudos for ABC realeasing such a well-edited tidbit:

Two sneak peaks also are up on Access Hollywood.com.

The first A.H. Lost Spoilers clip, Claire reveals her Par Avion, air bird mail, rescue plan. She recruits Jin, Sun and Charlie to help. And, it does not sound as hare brained ... um bird brained as you may believe. Of course Desmond is around to rain on the parade. Desmond repeatedly has said it is hopeless to try to escape to the outside world. Click through to Access Hollywood Lost Spoilers Clip 1 here.

The second A.H. clip is back on the beach, with Claire and Charlie set for a romantic breakfast of yummy Dharma cereal. Desmond crashes the party with his gun, and is quite unwelcome by Charlie. Desmond invites Charlie to go hunting, but Charlie has made other plans. However, Desmond is insistent, implying another "accident" is coming Charlie's way unless he goes along. Then, all of a sudden, it hits Claire - bird mail. Click through to Access Hollywood Lost Spoilers clip 2.

Meanwhile if anyone cares any longer, Kate continues on her journey to rescue Jack her love. She will catch up to Jack soon, not now, and what she finds will be a blowout. Sawyer, continues his no-white-picket-fence singlehood waiting for his next, um emotionally meaningful, encounter of an adult nature. It will come, after all, this is Lost Season 3, the ratings deprived relationship season.

Lost Spoilers: "Tricia Tanaka Is Dead", Season 3, Episode 10

Lost makes it to double-digits this week!

Here are the Lost spoilers for Lost Season 3, Episode 10, which has the mysterious title, “Tricia Tanaka Is Dead”. Think Hurley, think Hurley-centric, think skeleton key. No not skeleton key, skeleton is the key. Finally we can lay aside for a week hand wringing over whether to go back and save Jack (Kate eventually will round up the posse), or whether Sawyer and Kate let their true natures out … Warning there was misdirection in this paragraph, read to end.

No, here we go for some good old fun at Mr. Cluck’s Chicken Shack, with Cheech Marin of Cheech & Chong fame guest starring as the Hurley flashback dad. The ABC marketing gurus have not missed, or should we say, Lost a step on this one as they have rolled out the humor for the spoilers teaser. Best performance by a polar bear: Lost, Best visuals ... Kate in a bikini, Best creepy guy ... evil Ben:

Hurley finds a car wreck on the Lost island, might that be the infamous VW van of Lost spoilers past? Say yes, yes, yes. Look for Sawyer, Jin and some Buds to share a bud. That’s the spoilers from Lost Moment 11 spoilers a month ago right here. First, that van needs some gas.

Here are some more of the Lost spoilers, just as Sun is trying to force Jin to learn English, Hurley comes barging in about the car...nobody will help him gas it up, except Jin:

The real Kate / Sawyer Lost spoilers :) Actually, in this episode, Kate saves Sawyer and they reinvigorate their relationship, as Kate says, start again, clean slate. The spoilers are, yes and no, don't count on it, and, you will stay tuned:

Sayid and Locke Lost spoilers: Finally Kate and Sawyer hit the beach and are de-briefed by Sayid and Locke. Kate heads off to get help, and you know who it's from ... Yep Dannielle Rousseau, Alex's mother, and poor Karl's, well no relation, yet. How does she know where to look? Dart givaway.

True to half-baked rescue plans past, why bother taking the Iraqi Republican Guard torturer guy Sayid on a commando rescue mission? Hmmm can't think of any reason to do that ... ;)

Jack Arm Art Lost Spoilers

Ok arm art = tattoos. Yet again the Contender's Lost Spoilers has reported with 100% accuracy the future of Lost. The spoilers of course are tattoos on hero Jack's arm. If you believe the comments, a lot of people are getting annoyed that Jack still is the focus of so much of the show. But hey, he carried Lost for a while didn't he? I don't remember.

Anyway enough reminiscing with Jack and let's look at the new spoiler, that really isn't new if you have been keeping up with the spoilers Lost here.

Yes, tattoos on Jack's arms are going to be a focus. Lost Moment 13, the final and good luck not spoiler is upon us and what do you know? The nasty new Other is taunting Jack with the meaning of his tattoos. She implies Jack does not know the meaning. And their meaning is ... sorry no Chinese language spoilers available here... Do you know? Click here to see what one person says.

That is Lost Moment 13. Lost Moment 12 was Kate and Sawyer rowing back to the big Lost island. And for the hundred millionth time, Kate says stop Sawyer, we must turn around and get Jack (my other love). Do they get back to the big Lost island? Yes. Otherwise, Sawyer can't drink a beer and kick back with Jin with skelly and a VW bus.

Spoilers: Lost Survivor Guide, Kate and Claire

Deep in the recesses behind the scenes, and heard by our vast network of Lost Spoilers Blog informants, there has been considerable unease inside ABC and the Lost team about the public perception of this season 3. When the recognition started sinking in starting around the end of October, serious thought was given to avoiding the mistakes of other now defunct television series, and also to reinvigorate the Lost audience. You will never hear anyone make a big point of the deliberations, just the tantalizing hints of the outcome. And the fact of the matter is that the first six episodes of Lost this season were nothing short of brilliantly written and filmed.

We already have discussed a lot of the spoilers rolling out about the changes after Episode 9 of Season 3. There have been so many spoilers you have to wonder if this is just the second half. Before we know it Not In Portland will be here and the slew of spoilers will only continue week after week as the season progresses.

One spoiler is the recently announced episode called "Lost Survivor Guide". A nice play on the word "survivor", after all the Lostaways are stranded on an island to survive by their own moxie and wit to outplay, outwit and outlast the evil Others and the smoke monster. This Lost Survivor Guide will not only be to introduce Part II of season 3, but also to set the tone for bringing some new Lost fans on board. The ad campaign in the can will capitalize on this. For existing viewers, ABC is touting that the recap reiterate some hints, clues and secrets that everyone missed. Hmmmm is that the Kate is an Other secret? We think not.

The "guest stars" for Not In Portland have been announced as Robin Weigert as Rachel, M.C. Gainey as Mr. Friendly/Tom, William Mapother as Ethan, Blake Bashoff as Karl, Tania Raymonde as Alex, Michael Bowen as Pickett, Ariston Green as Jason, Teddy Wells as Ivan, Nestor Carbonell as Richard Alpert, Steve Labrash as morgue employee, Kimberly Estrada as Sherry, Rob McElhenney as Aldo and Zeljko Ivanek as Edmund.

Oh, I nearly forgot....Not. Why are there photos of Remington Steele, Moonlighting at the start of this post? Notice they are both couples but at the opposite ends of the romantic spectrum.

On the left there is Remington Steele featuring not quite lovebirds Laura Holt (Stephanie Zimbalist) and Remington Steele (Pierce Brosnan). That's Laura with the wide open eyes in the picture. Can't take her eyes of Pierce, and he for her. So what happened? Nothing - not until after the ratings tanked and the decision to cancel had been made. Romantic tension never let up.

Now, on the right there is Moonlighting, featuring the lovebirds Madeline "Maddie" Hayes (Cybill Shepherd) and David Addison (Bruce Willis). So what happened? ... Well, nothing until season 4. In the picture you see they are back-to-back, but touching. Looking different ways, but still close to one another. Then what happened, well they became a couple and ratings tanked.

Conventional wisdom actually being hinted at by the producers of Lost is that Moonlighting tanked after Maddie and David became a couple. But what about Remington Steele? It tanked even though Remington and Laura were apart. There are also are alternative explanations for the demise of Moonlighting's ratings, like, lagging scripts and exiling Maddie to the end of a phone line when Cybill Shepherd became pregnant.

So HEY Lost producers: don't take the wrong lessons from the past!

And HEY Lost Spoilers blogger, why is this a Lost spoiler anyway?

Oh...Yeah ... they don't want to repeat the past mistakes of Moonlighting and all.

This means: Charlie and Claire - although dancing with couple-dom throughout the first two seasons - WILL become a couple sort of and maybe not. First it looked like Claire was accepting Charlie, then came heroine, uh heroin between them. Yet now, have no doubt at all, about the Charlie's back spoiler. Count on the relationship to blossom then become and remain tense, Charlie never quite knowing where he stands ... sort of and maybe not.

Also have no doubt about this spoiler - Kate and Sawyer will not remain a happy pair, white picket fence, doggie and all. Their relationship will be sort of and maybe not as well. It will not be a tidy one and count on circumstances and their own natures to drive them apart, while the affection pulls in the other direction. Also don't forget all of Kate's longing for Jack. Moonlighting Lost will not be, nor will it Steele.
