Lost Spoilers Episode Clues: Season 3, Episode 9, Strangers in a Strange Land

(Sawyer cowboy's up)

This is the Contender’s Lost Spoilers blog for Lost season 3, episode 9, “Strangers in a Strange Land”. For this episode, I’m summarizing what we learned, some clues and some spoilers theories on the future.

Episode 9 was all about relationships coming together or falling apart. Season 3, Episode 10 will be back to the beach, following up on Desmond's stunning revelation. In this Lost episode:

  • Jack and Juliet are together - sailing like Titanic, bonded through adversity in the goal of keeping Ben faithful to his promise to grant their freedom.

  • Karl and Alex are apart longing for one another like Romeo & Juliet, star-crossed lovers gazing at the the galaxy to the end.

  • Sawyer and Kate are on the rocks.

The Tailies: Finally we found the surviving Tailies, Cindy the stewardess, and Emma and Zach, the kidnapped children from “The Other 48 Days”. So they are there watching… watching what? On the surface they were there to watch the trial of Juliet for killing Pickett. Delving deeper, the Lost spoilers are they are claiming to be watching, as opposed to participating in the evil deeds of the evil Others. Stockholm syndrome at play.

Others Cult Spoilers: Yet again the Others look like a cult. The symbology at the trial, the bizarre "sheriff" Isabel with the Toronto accent, and Ben's decree of “marking” Juliet with a brand recalling the discredited Salem witch trials.

Ben’s infection Lost spoilers – it happened, as everyone reading our blogs here knew. With the operating room conditions unsanitary it was immense spoilers insight (not) to know that Ben would have a serious back infection.

The marking Lost spoilers clues: Ben is bed ridden, riddled with infection. To save his own life, he knows that he must save is ex-girlfriend Juliet. Ever - vindictive, Ben commutes her death sentence, but brands her as a witch instead. Anybody now doubt Ben's true feelings about Juliet? After that, you can be sure the feeling is mutual.

The meaning of Jack’s tattoos spoilers: “He walks among us but he is not one of us". If that really is what they mean in Chinese characters, it means Jack is a leader, since one who leads does not walk with the masses, but is apart. … Jack says, that is what they say, but not what they mean. The real meaning spoilers are in the eternal bond with Achara, his sexy Thai girlfriend, and the ordeal of near death on Phuket, Thailand beach he paid to seal the bond in eternity.

Jack’s character was being tested in this episode and he passed. Achara can see who people really are, and her tattoo work is "not decoration ... it is definition". So she defines Jack as a leader.

Uh, Achara, you have not been watching Lost Seasons 2 and 3. Lol. Jack is portrayed as impetuous and mis-leading the Losties. But then again, he has taken the “lead” and she was not assessing his talent. So, she marks him as a leader. The real Lost Lost spoilers are buried deep: one purpose of the Island is for its captives to realize their potential and Jack is growing pretty fast into his. In a nice juxtaposition, Juliet is marked after Jack, and they now are bound together.

Best quote: Tom (Mr.) Friendly saying: "What kind of people do you think we are?” Jack could have replied, some kind of weird brainwashing cult. Instead he trots out the evidence – kidnapping a pregnant woman, hang Charlie, kidnapping children.

Karl Reveals: The Others work on "projects" on the small island, but live on the big Lost island.

Kate-Sawyer: Skate fight, of course. As the thousands of readers of this Lost Spoilers blog already knew with 100% accuracy weeks ago, Kate and Sawyer were destined to move apart and now they did. No neat linear relationship with white picket fence … uh unless they decide to go into Room 23 and join the Others.

Sawyer does dispose of some excess baggage, namely Karl. He tells Karl to cowboy up and go back to Alex.

Now to the big Lost spoilers question: Are the Others really evil? We have been led to believe they are kidnappers and brainwashers. Evil. But what if there really are another group of Others, who did those bad deeds, and who are controlling Ben’s group of Others? That would make Ben’s group “the good guys” as Ben has claimed all along.

Episode 7 Lost Moment Spoiler

This is an Episode 7, Not In Portland, post-hiatus spoiler:

I really haven't been tracking the Lost Moment ads that ABC is dishing now and then. However my interest was piqued between New Year's games by an ad they showed that seemed to compile two of the Moments. They are not really spoilers, since ABC is showing the world.

Regardless of what we call them, here's the scoop:

The Others don't just let Kate and Sawyer waltz away. They put pressure on Jack to ditch them, pointing out that the only reason he is alive is to cure Ben and if Ben dies Jack dies. Ninja Jack says, "I'll take my chances". Then to the beach. Surprise surprise. Kate doesn't have a boat. So much for Jack's brilliant plan. Of course, she's on an island, she needs a boat to get off! Pickett is in hot pursuit, gunfire erupts and then, from behind, Pickett is surprised and incapacitated. Whew.

Spoilers Blog for "I DO" - The Mini-Mid-Season Finale of Lost Season 3 – Episode 6.

If you want to remain in suspense until the broadcast, stop reading now...

The Clues blog on this episode is here: Lost Clues Blog.

This episode is actually a mini-finale, mini - cliffhanger and all. Lost takes a 13 week break coming back in late Winter for the Nielson ratings sweeps. Lost is a ratings powerhouse and the programming gurus at ABC would never squander that opportunity. Idea Idea Idea

This episode will end in mini - rousing season finale form, with a real mini - suspense-filled cliff hanger to keep Lost fans on edge with anticipation for the show’s return. The cliff hanger revealed at the end of this mother of all spoiler blogs Rolling Eyes .

The title of this episode is literal – “I do” – as in Kate getting married in a flashback, saying “I do”. We will see Kate (aka "Monica") in a white wedding dress taking vows with Kevin, portrayed by Nate Fillion. She's a fugitive. More on Nate here.

If it wasn't clear enough already, Kate also picks Sawyer (again) in another "I do" moment. This one was so obvious to anyone reading the Clues Blog on LostExposed.com that I did not include it in the original version of the Spoilers Blog.

Back on the little Island, the Others continue to press Jack to operate on Ben. Jack warns Ben his tumor is almost terminal, and will become inoperable within a week. Talk about pressure on everyone. Ben promises all the surgical equipment necessary. However, Jack resists performing the surgery.

So what do the lovable Others do to help Jack with his decision? Look for other Others' ways to put pressure on him of course. They cut off the surgeon's hands Mr. Green ... ok Not really. They use Kate to beg. Jack - having become a savvy negotiator this season - figures out they have done something to Kate. She lets on they threatened to kill Sawyer if Jack fails to cooperate. Chuck Norris Jack sees the Others have gotten to her and boots her out. This is not to disrespect her, but to demonstrate his own personal power to the mean Others.

expect more than one unanswered question, i.e. cliffhangers, after all this is Lost and we love it that way. Exclamation

Spoilers Lost - Season 3, Episode 4 - Every Man For Himself

Standard Warning:

Spoilers Ahead on the future of Lost.
If you want to remain in suspense until the broadcast, stop reading now...

The Clues blog on this episode is at: http://lostexposed.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=241, and will be updated after the broadcast.

Now it is back to prisoners and their jailers. Sawyer will take a lickin’, but keep on tickin', of course. Sawyer is the James Bond of Lost, so we can expect him to be a bit swollen, but he'll still be up for more. After all, he wants Kate, and must stay cool ... dude. Look for him to dish it out on Ben.

Back to Jack in the fish tank. However, don’t forget Benry’s offer at the end “The Glass Ballerina” - this season's second episode. Jack will have to consider that offer and give his answer. Look for him to try to evade it, but make a half-hearted show out of using his medical skills to help, but maybe his heart will not be in it.

[Update: However, there now is a rumor that an "Other" dies. Can Jack's skill cure the gunshot wound inflicted by Sun? We'll find out, but let's bet on "no".]

Alright Lost Spoilers hunters, there has been some false rumours out there on who will be featured in the flashback. It will either be Desmond’s prison backstory or Sawyer’s backstory. Let's bet on Sawyer for this one, my infallible sources say.

Spoilers on "Glass Ballerina", Lost Season 3, Episode 2 Spoilers

Warning: Pre-Broadcast Spoilers on the future of Lost ahead.

As usual with Lost, there are a lot of spoiler rumours floating around. Count on the spoilers blogger to sort through them all and find the nuggets of complete accuracy ... or at least a semblance thereof :).

Here are a few of the rumours. I am posting them separately from my episode clues blog so people who do not want to read spoilers can avoid more easily. Click here to go back to the Clues Blog.

Ok. Sayid is determined to find the Others' camp and hunt down his lost Lost comrades. The Others spot his sailboat (also crewed by Jin and Sun) and Ben decides he wants to capture it. So, they plot and ambush Sayid. A gunfight ensues in which one of the Others is killed. Sayid does not pursue them deciding to go back to regroup with the other losties -- after a debate with Sun.

Ben aka Fake Henry makes a proposal to Jack, namely that Jack provide medical assistance and other Other assistance. Jack at this point is thoroughly beaten down but resists. Not known how ambiguous his refusal is portrayed.

This also could give us some insight into how The Others turned Michael into a robotized assassin. Previoiusly Michael was portrayed as a coward.

Ok those are the biggies. Let's wait 'till Wednesday and enjoy the show. Come back on Wednesday or Thursday for my show blog. I may blog real time, depending on how coherent my thoughts look when I type them out!
